Curb Stomping your Persistent Elite - Or last week on Live.

Posted on April 30th, 2007 in IntEnt, Xbox 360 by Khidr

From Kotaku:

Last week’s Xbox Live numbers are in, and Gears and Rainbow Six have nabbed the top spots.  I can only imagine that this is in part, because these are the only two games I own. (I jest, I also own Table Tennis, Saint’s Row, Oblivion, and that other tennis game), but really, it’s just Gears and Rainbow Six.  I guess what’s really interesting to me is that GRAW2 is well down the list after C&C, Guitar Hero II, COD3, and minigolf.  Even more surprising is that Oblivion made its way to the top 10.

There is more to life than just video games….

There mere thought of uttering that phrase brings vivid images of Khidr  and dragonwyntir reenacting the beat down scene from full metal jacket (replacing the bars of soap in a sock with Xbox Controllers).  “All just a bad dream, Fatboy” indeed.

But I digress.

On the Wrong Side of the War

The release of bioshock theme and pictures on marketplace, has highlighted an issue that has been boiling over recently.  It seems Xbox Live users in general have been ripe pissed about the pricing and sale of certain recent content, including song packs for Guitar Hero II, Video Guides to locate COG tags in gears of war, and of course the bioshock adver-icons.

XBLA - Eets: The Demo and Pinball FX

Posted on April 26th, 2007 in Xbox 360 by Khidr

So on the heels of our resident xbla junky, I figured I’d do some thunder stealing to talk about some XBLA of my own.  Namely, the recently released demos for Eets Chowdown, and Pinball FX.

These two games are very very different experiences, and by any test, make for a solid Wednesday offering for XBLA.

Confessions of an XBLA junkie

After months of Image whoring for this little weblog of happy, I thought it was about time I sat down and wrote something. Unfortunately up until recently I had a jumbled idea as to exactly what TO write. Then it hit me, Or rather smacked upon me by the ever frosted Mr. Dragonwyntir.

So, a couple of months ago, dragonwyntir and myself parted ways as roommates to jump headlong into the world of grownup-dom.  As part of the divvying up of our “marital” property from our happy home, dragonwyntir took with him one, slightly used xbox 360, leaving me almost entirely gameless in my living room (except of course the sweaty katamari marathons).

Credit where credit is due!

God of War 2 is "teh r0×0rs".  Plain and simple.  Write it down.

Being the whore for production values that I typically am known to be, I’m always a sucker for a game that goes to great lengths to infuse "love" into the art form of video gaming.  God of War 2 is one such title.

2007 Spring Dashboard Update Leak?

Posted on April 7th, 2007 in IntEnt, Xbox 360 by dragonwyntir

NOW we’re talkin’…instead of all these crazy speculations and rabidly fierce suggestions, it looks like someone snagged a video of the upcoming feature set.  Among the new features are:

- New blade in the dashboard for the Marketplace
- Friends list now integrated with Windows Messenger buddies
- Text chat with up to 6 Messenger buddies
- Auto-off to have a "Background Download" mode, where the 360 powers down all but its essential functions until downloads are finished
- Better in-game achievement descriptions?  (I’m a little vague on this one…)

More Spring Dashboard Update News!

I’m a sucker for free additional functionality in my console.  I was over DLB’s house a few times in the past few weeks, and the 1.6 update for the PS3 added some great stuff.  There have been a couple of scraps in recent weeks regarding the 360’s update, as well, so I figured I would share:
