
After months of Image whoring for this little weblog of happy, I thought it was about time I sat down and wrote something. Unfortunately up until recently I had a jumbled idea as to exactly what TO write. Then it hit me, Or rather smacked upon me by the ever frosted Mr. Dragonwyntir.
During a conversation about my newest XBLA conquests he had mentioned that, “I was the house that upon which XBLA was built”. After pondering that for a moment I realized he was right. I have in fact made downloading games a new hobby of mine. In the day of realistic high definition quality graphics, I prefer the subdued harshness of pixilated goodness. Maybe it is the sense of nostalgia I get when I play TNMT or Gauntlet. Or maybe it is that my ever so aging and feeble mind cannot handle 3-D likeness and can only process visuals in the 2d space and side scrolling. At this point the logic will in fact remain a mystery.
I would also like to state for the record that Hexic is the best Xbox cure for insomnia.
Having said all of that though, I would like to make mention that there are in fact games that include aforementioned “new fangled” graphics that I rather enjoy. Monster Madness is the most recent demo and soon to be dropped game that I will invest in. It looks like a blast, and with the multi player co-op and versus options it is promising to be hours of co-worker ass kicking fun. I am also Partial to more fantasy based games like Kameo; which is wetting my palate for the new Mana game for the PS system (Thank You sony for releasing it on PS2.. I don’t foresee a raise in my foreseeable future *hack*cough*spew*), and this will allow me to play it without taking a trip to the
So your thought for the day: Next time you see an old woman playing Alien Hominid As opposed to Gears of War in her aging hands just remember there are all types of Xboxers out there. And some of them can kick your ass in Hexic.
