Spreading the love - 360 deal of the week.

Posted on May 29th, 2007 in Xbox 360 by Khidr

In continuing our noble quest here at Interscription to get a 360 in the home of every man woman and child on earth, we occasionally come across a deal that sweetens our siren song. This week, circuit city is offering an additional wireless controller, and a free copy of that "why on earth wasn’t this an xbla title," Fuzion Frenzy 2, with all new 360 purchases. Already have a 360? No problem… pick up a copy of Shadowrun or Forza, and they’ll throw in a free 19.99 game, which may well be Fusion Frenzy. Check out the deals here or just stop by your local circuit city.

That moving target.

In today’s episode of "you hurt the one’s you love," we have this little jem from 360-gamer.com. These guys ran a survey of 360 owners to try to get a sense of what the failure rates on xbox 360’s are. The number they came up with 61%! Even if you cut that figure in half, allowing for cretins and ps3 fanboys… it still means that 1 in 3 xbox 360’s will get an all expense paid trip (sometimes) to Texas for some refurb-alicious action within it’s first year of life. Anyone out there with any 360 horror stories? How about without? Do you at least know a guy who knows a guy who had his 360 blow up his basset hound?

An open letter to Bill Gates

Dear Bill: Hey Buddy.. How ya doin? I know you are probably busy with all things nerd, but I was wondering if you could take time from your oh so busy schedule to discuss one of your biggest cash cows.. The Xbox, namely the red light virus that has been going around a lot lately.

Catan is the new Uno! Now with more sheep.

Catan is the new Uno.

I downloaded this xbla title last night sight unseen since there was no demo, and couldn’t be happier with my 800 point purchase. Well, I could be happier if it was a 600 point purchase, but that goes for just about any content. Anyway, this game does everything you’d want it to do. It’s got a very slick interface, a decent tutorial built in, well balanced AI at each level of difficulty, and, while I only toyed around with the single player last night, the game even has a built in emoti-message thingy where you can throw hearts or angry faces at other players to let them know how you feel. Also, like Uno, the game offers a friendly buzz of your gamepad when it’s your turn, in case you’re maybe not say, carefully scrutinizing the other players’ every move on the wait to your turn.

The World, according to Jaffe

If you’ve been under a rock the past few days, and haven’t been checking out all the usual gaming blogs, there has been some high drama and nose thumbing surrounding the upcoming downloadable ps3 “Calling All Cars,” spearheaded by David Jaffe of God of War fame. You see, Jaffe has been going for this highly accessible rock-star of game-producers persona, and so he’s been keeping a blog and sharing his feelings with the world.
